Now furthermore in this account, the good stories from Kṛśna's sixth year should be listened to.
येथे नित्य नवि रती; याविण विषयांत होय सत्य न विरती.
In these stories, the mind is engrossed with continuously renewed interest; without them, there is truly no detachment from sensory pleasures.
हरि बळ सहशिशु वृंदाविपिनी चारिति महासुखे पशुवृंदा.
याची शोभा नमना योग्य, नुरवि मन्मथाचिया भान मना.
The beauty of this scene is worthy of obeisance, for it makes even the God of Love lose himself.
रक्षिति हे वन माळी ऋतु सादर सर्व ही; धणी वनमाळी.
पाहुनि पदवि, भुलावी कां न श्री, जीस नित्य पद विभु लावी?
Looking at the forest path created by her Lord's feet, how would LakśmI not be mesmerised? For her Lord always keeps her at His feet.
This land of the Vṛnda Forests, having the wondrous music of the flute-bird (Kṛśna's Flute) and always craving the harvest of the blessed dust particles of Krishna's feet, is well-praised by the wives of the various deities. (Land is feminine. Hence, she is praised by the wives.)
Upon that blessed land with many forests having multitudes of lakes with buzzing bees attracted by the many lotuses, whose fragrance, the breeze, having come to the Lord's feet, is instructed to spread by Him.
वैकुंठात रमेन, क्रीडा करि या वनी नितांत रमेन.
Not amused in His celestial abode Vaikunṭha, the Lord of LakśmI plays a lot in this forest.
देव समग्र जपाया सादर ज्या तो स्तवी निजाग्रजपाया.
The Lord, whose name is chanted by all the dieties with reverence, began to extol His brother's feet.
"आर्या! सुरनुतपद, या क्षितिवरि आलासि करुनि बहु नतप दया.
"O noble one! You, whose feet are saluted by the various dieties, have come upon this earth out of compassion for those who seek refuge in you.
Your devotees, like the trees in that Vrinda Forest, worship your feet, which are the givers of the reservoir of ambrosia, by offering fruits and flowers; and becoming the bees, sing your sin-destroying glories, without illusion.
धृतनरतनु वरदास त्यजिति न पदपद्मनिरतमुनिवर, दास.
The saints and devotees, who are dependent upon Your lotus feet, never leave You, who are the fulfiller of wishes, taking this body of man.
नाचति मयूर; सकळा अर्पिति तुझिया पदी स्वनृत्यरसकळा.
The peacocks dance, fully offering their art of dance upon Your feet.
त्वद्दर्शनमोदास स्वांत दिले; करिति तुज न 'नमो' दास.
Having fully given their hearts to the bliss of seeing you, the devotees forget to pay obeisance to you.
The cowherd maidens do not make conversation anymore, nor do they remember their husbands, or their children, or ever their own bodies, as their eyes feast upon you who have become their new diet. Just like the maidens, the does (she-deer) too look at you, letting go of their hesitation and perception of time.
स्वगृहागतपूज्य कृती हर्षविती विद्यमान अर्थे सुकृती.
Ever ready to do what pleases you, the birds sing praises (like the Vedas); for this is the way to preserve righteousness. All of nature endeavours to bring you joy with its available resources (flora and fauna) like worshipping a guest visiting one's home.
These feet of yours are the givers of grace to great sages, they are the water by which all the living beings live. Birds, deer, trees, mountains, all are blessed indeed for they seem to be swaying with joy like the walk of an elephant.
